Dear business partners,

We had an opportunity to meet in person with many of you during our regular Meetings with our certified clients, which took place in September at the baroque castle Štiřín and the multi-purpose hall Gong in Lower Vítkovice (Dolní Vítkovice). Let me thank you once again for accepting our invitation! We have prepared a package of materials from lectures held during these meetings and would like to offer these materials to those of you who could not have participated in this event. The main topic of the Meeting, as well as of forthcoming trainings scheduled towards the end of this year is the planned upcoming revision of the ISO 9001 standard; I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to the International Engineering Fair (MSV) which will host our leading experts in ASME BP&V Code, the area at which our company occupies a leading position among Czech certification companies. This lecture will be held on October 2.

Since you are reading the last this year´ s edition of our Newsletter, I would like to take this moment to thank you on behalf of all my colleagues for your kind co-operation and wish you good health, success and let´s hope for new common projects in the coming year, however advanced my wishes might seem at the beginning of October.

The Meeting with TÜV NORD Czech clients took place on September 17 and 24, 2014

This year´s Meeting with our certified clients was held in two locations: in a multi-purpose auditorium Gong, located at the premises of the Czech national heritage site Lower Vítkovice (Dolní Vítkovice) and the baroque castle Štiřín. 

The main purpose of these Meetings was to inform you about planned upcoming standard revisions, new services, changes in our company and last but not least to thank you for your co-operation. Thank you for your time and we are looking forward to the next Meeting in the coming year!

TÜV NORD GROUP´s turnover exceeds 1M EUR

TÜV NORD GROUP, with a workforce of 9,900 employees including TÜV NORD Czech, has reached a turnover of 1.08M EUR in 2014. TÜV NORD GROUP operates in over 70 countries throughout the world, covering TÜV NORD (certifications, inspections, VTS, training – for more than 40 years), DMT (services in natural resources exploration, mining technology, product testing, construction safety, etc.) and ALTER Technology (international leader in the area of selection, testing and certification of satellite electronic components) companies.

Testing laboratories Brno to expand their capacity including metallography

Testing laboratories Brno have expanded their portfolio of accredited testing following this year´s surveillance audit conducted by the Czech Accreditation Institute (ČIA) and requests from their customers. The new services include metallographic and mechanical testing concerning a metallic weld seam tests in accordance with  ČSN EN 14516-1, other parts of the standard and related standards (i.e. for the tensile test in accordance with ČSN EN ISO 15614-1, the article 7.4.2; ČSN EN ISO 5178, ČSN EN ISO 4136, ASME CODE Section IX QW-150, for the bend test in accordance with ČSN EN ISO 15614-1, the article 7.4.5; ČSN EN ISO 5173, ASTM E 190, ASTM E 290, ASME CODE Section II SA-370, for the metallographic weld seam tests in accordance with ČSN EN ISO 15614-12, ČSN EN ISO 17639, ČSN EN 12797 and others). Testing laboratories Brno have already expanded their portfolio of services last year, including testing in accordance with GOST standards into their activities.

TÜV NORD Czech supervises delivery of fluidized bed boiler to the Lovochemie heating plant to the value of billion CZK

ČKD PRAHA DIZ (a member of ČKD GROUP) carries out a delivery of a complete technological unit of greening of the energetic source (which lies in a replacement of one fluidized bed boiler for two old coal boilers) in the Lovochemie heating plant (a member of Agrofert group). TÜV NORD Czech supervises design, delivery, assembly and placing in service of the fluidized bed boiler carried out by the main supplier ČKD PRAHA DIZ together with other subcontractors (CZ-MONT, Valmont). The project is expected to be completed in the second half of 2015.  

TÜV NORD Czech provides the ENplus certification also abroad

Five (5) successful certifications have been granted this year to four (4) Czech and one (1) Slovak manufacturer within the certification of wood pellets in accordance with the ENplus system. Other certifications are being completed. The ENplus brand opens door to our manufacturers towards the European markets. TÜV NORD Czech

TÜV NORD Czech will supervise production of new containers for Temelín

TÜV NORD Czech will resume its supervision over production of new spent fuel containers for the Temelín nuclear power station since the start of 2015. Supervision of TÜV NORD Czech over the German company GNS Essen will span over a minimum of three (3) next years since the production time is one (1) container per year with a production capacity of maximum three (3) containers / year. Safety of each container is approved by the final certificate with a documentation consisting of more than 1,500 pages (including documents verifying project documentation, a supplier, inspection of entry materials, and test in production, supervision of assembly and results of final tests). The first CASTOR containers at Temelín have been used for spent fuel already in 2010.

Energy audits – energy savings following the forthcoming legislation

The amended Act No. 406/2000 Sb., on Energy Management, published September 4, 2014, which transposes the Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament on energy efficiency, has the anticipated effective date on January 1, 2015. The main objective of this act is to reduce the amount of energy input, to provide a document of energy performance, to reduce emissions and to increase the amount of renewable sources.   

The amended Act among other things stipulates concepts of an energy audit and an energy auditor.  The obligation to subject an energy facility or building to an energy audit shall be binding upon the facility/building with aggregate annual energy consumption higher than the value set by an implementation regulation and the facility/building which has undergone substantial changes and has not fulfilled the requirements of the energy performance of buildings. An energy audit shall not be performed if the existing technological facilities for the production of electricity and heat, transmission and distribution of electricity and distribution of heat, comply with the energy efficiency requirements and for existing buildings whose measurable heat consumption in heating complies with the requirements (this audit will be conducted by the energy expert). The amended Act also stipulates an obligation to provide an energy report.

Termination of validity of GOST certificates is approaching: 15.3.2015

We would like to remind you that all serial certificates for export to Russia, the Customs Union countries and Ukraine (GOST R, CTB, GOST-K, TR Russia) issued before 14.2.2013 will remain valid until their expiration, and by 15.3.2015 at the latest.

The certificates are being substituted by Technical regulations; the products will be labelled with the EAC mark (Euro-Asia Conformity).
